I discovered Rachel Bowdler when I read Honeymoon for One (which I loved). So I was pleased to get my hands on Summer at the Scottish Castle.

I really loved this book. I love the LGBTQ+ representation. I love all the characters, especially Mac and Arran. I love the setting, at a Scottish Castle and village. My only frustration was with Jess not telling Mac about her title. It’s totally understandable, but I couldn’t have done it!

The plot was really enjoyable, plenty of romance, and found family, and people choosing what’s right for them. I loved Jess’s storyline especially.

This was such a heartwarming and lovely romance, I honestly can’t recommend it enough.

Blog Tour - Murder in Mayfair

  Review - 5 out of 5 stars: I love the Lady Eleanor Swift mysteries, and Murder in Mayfair was no exception. This time, Eleanor is trying to solve a murder and a burglary at the same time. I really enjoyed being along for the ride as she frantically tries to find the truth.  Eleanor is a favourite character, I love her forthrightness and the way she never gives up. She’s also kind and compassionate. I loved the way that she, Clifford, and Hugh worked together on this case. The mysteries themselves were intriguing, and I enjoyed the way finding out new facts gradually revealed what had actually happened. And I was still surprised at the reveal!  As always, I enjoyed the historical notes at the end. Overall, this was another excellent mystery from a favourite author.  I was given a copy of this book, my opinions are my own. Review: The Enforcer Enigma

The Enforcer Enigma by G.L. Carriger My rating: 5 of 5 stars Gail Carriger (aka G. L. Carriger) is my favourite author, and I will read anything she has written. I have high expectations, and she exceeds them every time.  This book was wonderful, just like all the others in this series. It was both hilarious and touching. It had a beautiful, heartwarming plot. As usual, the use of language is wonderful, and often playful, in a way that reminds me of P. G. Wodehouse (though the plot is obviously not alike).
