Review: The Transylvania Twist: A dead funny romantic comedy

The Transylvania Twist: A dead funny romantic comedy The Transylvania Twist: A dead funny romantic comedy by Angie Fox
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the second book in the Monster MASH series by Angie Fox. Angie Fox is a favourite author of mine, I’ve been reading her Southern Ghost Hunter series for years, and l love the lightheartedness of them.

The Monster MASH series is full of things I don’t usually like to read about - war, gods, hell dimensions, horrible injustice. However, Angie’s trademark witty writing style makes these books enjoyable for me. There is also an interesting love interest, though I was slightly discombobulated by it being a different person than the love interest in the first story. However, it’s definitely a believable plot line.

The Transylvania Twist follows on from not that long after The Monster MASH ended. It has all the same excitement and adventure that the first book did.

I enjoyed this book far more than the previous one, partly because I was already used to the unfairness and so on inherent in the world. There was also some humour to lighten things up. I found it easy to read, in spite of the heavy topics involved. I am looking forward to the next, and final, book in the series.

If the genre of this book is a genre you love (unlike me), then the excellent writing will make this a five star read. But as I base my stars purely on my personal enjoyment, I am only rating it four stars.

I was given a free copy of this book, my opinions are my own.
