The Lady Hardcastle series is rather a favourite of mine, so I was delighted to be given a review copy via NetGalley. The Fatal Flying Affair does not disappoint.

I loved this book, just as I have loved every single one in this series. I love the characters, and the banter between Lady Hardcastle and Florence in particular. We also get to see a little more of Harry and his family in this one. I love the lightheartedness, the general understated (but very funny) humour, and the silliness. I always feel happy when I read a Lady Hardcastle book!

I really enjoyed the aeroplane aspect of this story, and the fact that Lady Hardcastle and Florence are back working with the government again. The mystery itself (or as it turned out, three related issues!) was interesting, and the solution was not immediately obvious.

If you’re looking for a lighthearted mystery, with just the right amount of adventure and silliness, then I recommend this story.

Blog Tour - Murder in Mayfair

  Review - 5 out of 5 stars: I love the Lady Eleanor Swift mysteries, and Murder in Mayfair was no exception. This time, Eleanor is trying to solve a murder and a burglary at the same time. I really enjoyed being along for the ride as she frantically tries to find the truth.  Eleanor is a favourite character, I love her forthrightness and the way she never gives up. She’s also kind and compassionate. I loved the way that she, Clifford, and Hugh worked together on this case. The mysteries themselves were intriguing, and I enjoyed the way finding out new facts gradually revealed what had actually happened. And I was still surprised at the reveal!  As always, I enjoyed the historical notes at the end. Overall, this was another excellent mystery from a favourite author.  I was given a copy of this book, my opinions are my own. Review: The Enforcer Enigma

The Enforcer Enigma by G.L. Carriger My rating: 5 of 5 stars Gail Carriger (aka G. L. Carriger) is my favourite author, and I will read anything she has written. I have high expectations, and she exceeds them every time.  This book was wonderful, just like all the others in this series. It was both hilarious and touching. It had a beautiful, heartwarming plot. As usual, the use of language is wonderful, and often playful, in a way that reminds me of P. G. Wodehouse (though the plot is obviously not alike).
